students

We love students.  University is a fantastic opportunity to learn and grow as a person and as a Christian.  But it can be a challenging time too, living away from home and dealing with all kinds of new pressures.

At Emmanuel we want to support students so that they thrive at university.  We take students seriously as adults and want to include them in everything we do as a church family, just as we would with anyone else.  Students are encouraged to join a Connect Group and are asked to serve in the church where they can.  We’ve found that this really encourages them to grow and we believe it will equip them for a lifetime of enjoying normal church life, whether here or somewhere else. We also encourage students to get stuck in with their Christian Union to reach their campus for Christ, making the most of the unique opportunities that student life brings.

We do recognise that being a student brings unique challenges.  We want to provide a loving home-from-home and to help however we can. One way we do that is through ‘Rooted’ – a fortnightly discussion group and hot meal for students in a family home, following the service. There are lifts available to church as well if you get in touch with us.

University days can be some of the most life-shaping.  We’d love to help you keep Jesus at the centre of it all.  If you’re preparing to head to uni in Nottingham or are currently a student and you want to find out more or arrange a lift, we’d love to hear from you via our contact page.
