students

We love students.  University is a fantastic opportunity to learn and grow as a person and as a Christian.  But it can be a challenging time too, living away from home and dealing with all kinds of new pressures.

At Emmanuel we want to support students so that they thrive at university.  We take students seriously as adults and that’s why we’ve made the decision not to have a specific group just for students but instead to include them in everything we do as a church family, just as we would with anyone else.  Students are encouraged to join a Connect Group and are asked to serve in the church where they can.  We’ve found that this really encourages them to grow and we believe it will equip them for a lifetime of enjoying normal church life, whether here or somewhere else.

We do also recognise that being a student brings unique challenges.  We want to provide a loving home-from-home and to help however we can. We have strong links with UCCF (see our ‘global vision’ page) and we encourage students to get stuck in with their Christian Union to reach their campus for Christ.  There are lifts available to church as well if you get in touch with us.

University days can be some of the most life-shaping.  We’d love to help you keep Jesus at the centre of it all.  If you’re preparing to head to uni in Nottingham or are currently a student and you want to find out more or arrange a lift, we’d love to hear from you via our contact page.
