leadership team
Emmanuel Church is led by the Leadership Team, which is responsible for the doctrinal integrity, policy and strategy of the Church – overseeing the church’s pastoral and spiritual work. Together with the Finance & Property Group they make up the Managing Trustees of the charity.
The Leadership Team are:
Alex Slowey
Alex is married to Heather and they have two young boys aged 7 and 5. When not working as an Industrial Pharmacist, he loves playing with power tools! He has a growing collection of dust on top of his growing collection of books.

Ed Bowerman
Ed spent his childhood in Cambridgeshire playing football, tennis and singing along badly to all sorts of music. He doesn’t really know what he wants to do when he grows up but in the mean time he goes to work at an aerospace company, is married to Anna and has three children who enjoy football and tennis and telling him not to sing. He still waits for the phone call from Liverpool FC.

Nathan Burley
Nathan studied Drama at university, where he met his lovely wife Libby. After working for a church in London, he and Libby moved up to Bramcote in 2008. Since then he’s finished his theological studies, gained a fantastic little son (Abraham) and bought a grown-up car. Nathan loves seeing people find joy in the gospel and becoming part of a loving community reaching out to others. He also loves music, chatting about a good film and getting out in the sunshine. Day to day, he works as Community Pastor for Emmanuel.

Nigel StylesNigel was a musician and actor in a previous life, has been in church leadership for many years, and came to Bramcote in 2002. He is really enthusiastic to hear the Bible taught well, and loves watching its impact in people’s lives. He’s married to Lizzie with six children aged 11 to 30, loves theatre and contemporary fiction and wishes he’d been a Blue Peter presenter. But in the meantime, Nigel is Senior Minister of Emmanuel, working full-time alongside the other church staff.
