staff team & others
We’re really clear at Emmanuel that it’s the whole church who are the ministers of Emmanuel! But our staff oversee the day-to-day organisation of our church life, and have a particular role in equipping and mobilising all of us.

Nigel Styles
Senior Minister
Nigel was a musician and actor in a previous life, has been in church leadership for many years, and came to Bramcote in 2002. He is really enthusiastic to hear the Bible taught well, and loves watching its impact in people’s lives. He’s married to Lizzie with six children aged 11 to 30, loves theatre and contemporary fiction and wishes he’d been a Blue Peter presenter.

Nathan Burley
Community Pastor
Nathan studied Drama at university, where he met his lovely wife Libby. After working for a church in London, he and Libby moved up to Bramcote in 2008. Since then he’s finished his theological studies, gained a fantastic little son (Abraham) and bought a grown-up car. Nathan loves seeing people find joy in the gospel and becoming part of a loving community reaching out to others. He also loves music, chatting about a good film, getting out in the sunshine and enjoying a cheeky pint.

Toni Davies
Children & Young People’s Work Co-Ordinator
Toni has been part of the Emmanuel Church family since its infancy. She is married to Brian, loves coffee, cats, camping, her 3 teenage children, cycling (especially downhill), family games and of course Brian.
Celia Butler
Ministry Trainee
Celia has just finished a geography degree at the University of Nottingham, during which time she started coming to Emmanuel. Celia is really looking forward to this year of training and serving at Emmanuel, especially deepening her understanding of the Bible and how to best point others to Jesus through it. She is a keen hockey player but enjoys nearly every other sport too if it involves breaking a sweat. She also loves baking, the West Wing and a good cup of tea.
Heather Slowey
Part-Time Administrator
Heather is married to Alex and is a stay-at-home Mum to two young boys aged 5 and 3. She is often to be found walking in Bramcote delivering and collecting her boys to and from school and pre-school and she helps run our church toddler group, Pebbles Plus. She would love to read more if only she could stay awake long enough!
